| About the James River |
| With its headwaters beginning at the confluence of the Jackson and Cowpasture rivers, the James River flows 300+ miles through Virginia ending in the Chesapeake Bay making it the longest river within the state of Virginia. In 1985, the state of Virginia designated the 14-mile section from Eagle Rock to Springwood as part of the Virginia Scenic River system. The James River is the core for the area's bounty of outdoor opportunities. |
